Reconnecting Neuromuscular Responses™ (RNR™)

RNR™ is a therapeutic massage technique that supports the relationship between the nerves and the muscles through the Golgi tendon organs. Golgi tendon organs are nerve endings located in soft tissue fibers throughout the body. When a person experiences pain, the pain signal may cause splinting, which is a contraction of one group of muscles around another to immobilize them. Splinting is a wonderful mechanism; however, when this signal does not “turn off,” the healing process may be hindered. RNR™ assists the body to turn off this signal, so healing may be facilitated at a faster rate.

RNR™ is a great modality for arthritis, asthma, athletes, nerve damage, recovering from injury and/or surgery, persons wanting to understand healthy touch, scoliosis, senior citizens, stress management, and TMJD.

The mission of RNR™ is to bring about a sense of balance and well-being to both the client and the therapist during and after every session.

More about RNR™

This is a unique technique and is very effective in reducing the “pain cycle” to encourage healing. Designed for a full body session, or as a pain spot reducer, your session requires no oil and is done through clothes. A comfortable t-shirt and athletic shorts or loose knit pants are appropriate attire.

RNR™ has been developed by Laurel Freeman, BA, LMT, MA7670/MM344

I had lost a lot of mobility with chronic back pain and a hip replacement; my body felt like it was on lockdown. After my first session, I was amazed at how instantly my pain was reduced and my flexibility had increased. I hadn’t seen my right knee in over three years. Just amazing considering all the time I spent suffering. I don’t get treatments as much as I like, but each and every time I am thrilled to see more improvements. Thanks, Angie, I feel alive!
